Weekly Beta Update: High Score Update and New Level
Posted: 11-18-07
In the update this week we changed how the high score system works. Instead of just entering a name when
the submit high score pops up, we have now attached the high scores to the users forum account. So now you
have to enter your username and the password of your forum account in order to post a high score. Along with this
change comes a few other new features in the way the high score system works. These changes as posted on the
forum earlier include:
Each user is now limited to having one high score (per level) on the list at a time. I will describe the 3 possible scenarios and how they will be handled.
1) It is a users first time making it onto the high score list. The users score will be placed in the proper position and bumb the lowest score off of the list.
2) The user already has a score which is higher. Nothing will change on the high score list.
3) The user beat an old score of theirs. The users old score will be replaced by their new HIGHER score.
In order to accomplish all the changes to the high score system, we are going to have to reset the high score list. So we are sorry for anyone who may have had a high score they were proud of. Yes we do plan on improving the look of the current high score list. That should be done sometime this week. View the current high score list.
Also a new level has been added. This level is a little harder than the previous levels, and offers more dynamic paths. It was tested a bit before the release, but needs further balancing. So thoughts posted to our forums of what you think will be extremely helpful in improving this level and any other levels in the future.
Other improvements include various performance improvements, bug fixes, and small improvements to the GUI interface.
So head on over and download the latest beta version at File Front.
